South Africa is situated on the southern tip of African continent. The country shares its boarders with Namibia to the northwest, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the north, and Mozambique and Swaziland to the northeast. South Africa is washed by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and by the Indian Ocean to the south and east. The country encompasses the independent mountain kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland. South Africa has three capitals: Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Pretoria. The legislative capital is Cape Town, where the country's Parliament is found. The economic center of the country is Johannesburg. Geographically South Africa consists of three main regions: the central plateau, the mountain ranges, which ring the plateau on the west, south, and east, and a narrow strip of low-lying land along the coast. In spite of the fact that South Africa’s climate varies according to its regions, the climate remains comfortable throughout the year.
